On Jan 7, 1999 Bill Baird at a luncheon was presented the second annual Gunderson Award for 1998, by the members of the International Registry of Radiation Safety Officers (IRRSO). This is given annually for outstanding achievements in Radiation Safety and Radiation Technology. This Gunderson Award was named for its first recepient, Darrell Gunderson. Darrell recieved the first annual Gunderson Award in 1997.
Bill is a leading expert in Electron Beam Technology. He is in fact one of the founding fathers of this technology. He was instrumental in the development of the worlds leading Radiation Safety Program of the Cryovac Division of W.R. Grace & Co.
